Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays and not because of the special foods and a day off work. The American tradition of giving thanks is based on the provision of God. Despite the fact that our nation is more focused on dishonoring God than ever before, we as a remnant of faithful followers of Christ have the opportunity to share in thanks to our God for all of His provision. Granted, we should thank God daily for His provision, but this occasion to celebrate can serve as a witness of God's faithfulness over the past year.
So what has God done in our lives over the past year for which we would like to give special thanks?
* God has preserved our lives and provided for all our needs.
* Both of our children love the Lord Jesus Christ and Katrina professed her faith in Christ and was baptized.
* We successfully completed adoption training and are licensed to adopt children in Colorado. We are waiting for God to enlarge our family.
* Annina completed High School and Katrina started the adventure of reading and is diligently working on her writing and number skills.
* We enjoyed two weeks of vacation including family camp with our church in New Mexico and a road trip to visit Carl’s grandmother in Oregon. We are thankful her mind was sharp and we could enjoy a nice visit with her and the Ivie side of our family. Grandma went home to be with the Lord October 9, 2009 after almost 93 years.
* We have enjoyed visits from friends and family throughout the year and many meals with our church families and neighbors. We enjoy hospitality, so just let us know when you would like to visit.
* We built a new building that houses a greenhouse, storage area and chicken coop. The chicken have just started laying eggs and we are thoroughly enjoying the healthy country eggs.
* Our garden has expanded to include an orchard with 13 trees and Annina has joined the beekeepers with one beehive.
* We are very thankful for our church that encourages and challenges us to grow deeper in our relationship with our risen, living and indwelling Lord and Savior!
* We are grateful for your friendship across many miles for many of you.
Our prayer is that we will continue to give thanks to our almighty God in all circumstances of life throughout the coming year.

ReplyDeleteHey.....lovely Blogg! Well done. So good to see pictures of all of you. It looks like you have lots and lots of space where you live now....that is wonderful. We would love to be able to have chickens and a bigger veggie garden....but for now, our Duck, Bunny, 9 cats, tomatoes and a variety of herbs will have to do. Take care......love, Lenora and family
